Our Plumbing Services in Tyler, Longview & Athens

Plumbing problems are pretty much inevitable when you own a home. Sometimes it’s a small annoyance, like a faucet that won’t stop dripping. Other times, it’s a bigger problem that needs attention right away.

ETR handles residential plumbing repairs, replacements, and installations throughout East Texas.

Water Heater Repair, Installation & Replacement

Running out of hot water halfway through a shower is never fun. If your water heater isn’t keeping up like it used to, it may need some attention. You might also notice strange noises coming from the tank, water that doesn’t get hot enough, or a leak around the bottom of the unit.

There are a few different things that can cause these problems. Sediment can build up inside the tank over time, heating elements can fail, and thermostats can stop working properly. Some of these issues are fairly simple to repair. But if the tank itself is leaking or the water heater is getting old, replacing it may be the better option.

ETR works on both tank and tankless water heaters, including gas and electric models. We handle repairs, new installations, and replacements. If you’re considering switching to a tankless water heater, we can also help you figure out whether it’s a good fit for your home.

Drain Cleaning

Most drain clogs don’t happen overnight. Hair, soap, grease, food scraps, and other debris gradually collect inside the pipes until water has trouble getting through. What starts as a slow drain can eventually turn into a complete blockage.

ETR provides drain cleaning to clear out clogs and get things flowing again. If a drain keeps clogging, there may be more going on than a simple blockage. We can use a plumbing camera to inspect the inside of the line and see what’s causing the trouble. Camera inspections also allow us to check the pipe afterward to make sure the blockage is gone.

Sewer Line Repair & Replacement

Sewer line problems aren’t always obvious at first. You might notice a toilet gurgling when another fixture drains, several drains backing up around the same time, or a sewage smell that won’t go away. In more serious cases, wastewater can back up into your shower or tub.

Tree roots can grow into sewer pipes, especially older ones that already have small cracks or loose joints. Pipes can also shift, break, or deteriorate over time. Sometimes the problem is just a clog, but a badly damaged pipe may need to be repaired or replaced.

ETR handles sewer line repairs and replacements for East Texas homeowners. We’ll check the line to find out what’s wrong and how much of the pipe is affected. Depending on the damage, we may be able to repair a section of the line rather than replace the whole thing.

Slab Leak Detection & Repair

Some water leaks are easy to find. Others happen underneath your home’s concrete foundation, where you can’t see them. These are called slab leaks, and they can cause damage before you even realize there’s a problem.

One of the first signs may be a water bill that’s suddenly higher than usual. You might also notice damp spots on the floor, an area of flooring that feels unusually warm, or the sound of running water when everything is turned off.

ETR provides slab leak detection and repair to find leaks beneath your foundation. Once we locate the problem, we can determine how to fix it. Depending on where the pipe is damaged, that may involve repairing the existing line or rerouting the plumbing around the affected area.

Gas Line Installation, Leak Detection & Repair

Gas lines are used for more than just stoves. They also supply fuel to water heaters, furnaces, home standby generators, and other gas-powered equipment.

If you’re installing a new appliance or generator, you may need a new gas line or changes to your existing piping. ETR handles gas line installation for these projects, along with repairs to existing gas lines.

We also provide gas leak detection and repair. If you smell gas or suspect a leak, leave the area immediately and call your gas utility or emergency services from a safe location. Don’t use electrical switches, appliances, or anything else that could create a spark.

Kitchen & Bathroom Plumbing

Your kitchen and bathroom plumbing gets used every day, so it’s not unusual for something to eventually need fixing. Faucets start dripping, toilets keep running, drains clog, and garbage disposals stop working.

ETR handles these common plumbing problems, along with leaking pipes, sink repairs, and issues with showers and tubs. We can also replace or install plumbing fixtures if you’re updating your kitchen or bathroom.

Whether it’s a faucet that’s been dripping for weeks or a toilet that suddenly won’t flush, we can take a look and get it fixed.

One Team for Your Whole Home

East Texas homeowners have been calling ETR for heating and air conditioning service since 1977. Now you can call us for plumbing, too.

If your AC stops cooling, your water heater goes out, or you’ve got a leak under the kitchen sink, you don’t have to find a different company for each problem. ETR can take care of your heating, cooling, and plumbing needs, all under one roof.

Plumbing Frequently Asked Questions

Is ETR Services licensed for plumbing in Texas?

Yes. ETR provides plumbing services under Texas Responsible Master Plumber License M42542.

What’s the difference between a slab leak and a regular leak?

A slab leak is a leak in a water pipe beneath your home’s concrete foundation. Unlike a leak under a sink or behind a toilet, you usually can’t see exactly where the water is coming from. Special equipment may be needed to find the leak without unnecessarily opening up the floor.

Do you repair and install both gas and electric water heaters?

Yes. We repair, install, and replace gas and electric water heaters, including traditional tank models and tankless systems.

Why does my drain keep clogging?

If a drain keeps clogging even after you’ve cleared it, there may still be buildup farther down the pipe. Tree roots or damage to the line can also cause recurring clogs. A camera inspection can help us find out what’s causing the problem.

How do I know if I have a sewer line problem?

If several drains are backing up at once, your toilet gurgles when you use another fixture, or sewage is coming up through a shower drain, there may be a blockage or damage in your main sewer line.

Can you install a gas line for a home generator?

Yes. ETR installs gas lines for home standby generators, as well as gas water heaters, stoves, furnaces, and other gas appliances. We’ll make sure the line is properly sized for the equipment being installed.

Should I repair or replace my water heater?

It depends on the problem and the condition of the unit. A faulty thermostat or heating element may be worth repairing, especially if the water heater is still in good shape. But if the tank is leaking, the unit is getting old, or you’re having to repair it frequently, replacement may make more sense.
